Signal Transformer Qualifies for CSA's Supervised Manufacturer Testing Certification (SMTC)

Inwood, NY, June 6, 2007…Signal Transformer, a subsidiary of Bel Fuse Inc. (NASDAQ: BELFA & BELFB), announced that the latest audit conducted by Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for the Supervised Manufacturer Testing Certification (SMTC) found Signal Transformer to be in full compliance with their new standard for testing laboratories (IEC/ISO 17025). The SMTC, formerly known as the Shared Certification Program, enables Signal to certify that its products meet the UL/CSA 5085 standard, therefore simplifying and expediting the transformer certification process for customers to help speed products to market. Moreover, as Signal is qualified to test and confirm compliance with this standard, the Company designs all their custom products from the ground up to meet and exceed the most stringent safety agency specifications.

“Safety has been Signal’s first priority since it’s founding,” said Sandy Axelrad, general manager of Signal. “The CSA audit results clearly demonstrate our on-going commitment to providing customers with unsurpassed quality and value-added services.  We’ve been able to ‘certify’ transformers through CSA’s Shared Certification program for over 15 years, and are very pleased to have now met the more rigorous requirements of SMTC.”
